MAIDEN LANE- Virgin Ally- Bodie, California

Beautiful Doll, Rosa May, Emma Goldsmith, Nellie Monroe, and “other Ladies of the Evening”- lived and worked here in a row of mostly one-room tiny cabins, called “cribs,” which were conveniently located behind Main Street Saloons.

Bodie’s RED LIGHT DISTRICT was also known as MAIDEN LANE or VIRGIN ALLEY.

Destroyed by fire- nothing remains of the location, where the “Proper Townsfolk” recognized as unsafe and unfriendly to enter, for fear of being recognized or seen by others.
