Inside the Bodie Jail.

One of the oldest buildings in Bodie- From 1878 to 1881, the Jail was the responsibility of Constable John Kirgan.

In the infamous 1881 incident, which resulted in Kirgan’s temporary demotion, Vigilantes took accused murder Joseph DeRoche from the Jail and hanged him.
